One of the best ways you can boost your business is personal branding photos! When people visit your website you have on average 10 seconds or less to get them to stay. You need interesting and inviting content to grab them, otherwise they will move quickly to the next profile.
Your photos should be a true representation of who you are! Being genuine in the way you represent yourself is best so people can have a good look at who they will be working with. When your personality comes through in your photos, people will “click” with you and feel like they know you already. There is no need to pretend to be someone you’re not in photos; use your personality to enhance your visual marketing! Stay true to yourself
You can use this type of media in so many ways. There are the obvious ways like website, instagram, and twitter photos, but there are also SO many other ways to visually represent yourself. You can create flyers, business cards, and other printed materials. You can create customized stickers and labels with your face on them to promote yourself while packaging your goods. Make memes, gifs, and other animations to draw people in and make them smile!
The way the world is right now, you absolutely need strong photographs to make yourself and brand stand out. Your photographs are the first thing people are going to see when they search for your goods/services. Think about it…who would you like to book? Someone who has a low resolution cell phone photo, someone who has a super outdated 80s glam type photo, or someone who has a clean and professional photo that is up to date and represents their current brand? The answer for most is probably the latter. Your clients also want someone who realizes that being a professional means representing yourself as such. Show your current and future clients that your professionalism comes first by having up to date personal branding photos.
What are you waiting for? Let’s schedule yours today so you can start drawing in the clientele of your dreams!
Before you were a wife, a mom, or even in a long term partnership, you were just you. You did things on your own; you celebrated friendships, birthdays, holidays, and shopped for events without another person’s outfit in mind.
Change is not a bad thing, and moving on to new roles in life is a wonderful progression! Sometimes after years of your new identify as a wife, mom, or partner, though, you can forget the person who exists when all of those factors are put aside. That isn’t to say your new identities are bad or hold you back in any way, but every once in a while it can be a comforting reminder that YOU still exist, outside of all your new labels.
When you spend time taking professional portraits of yourself it can be a huge confidence boost! Some of us need that extra step to feel like “us” again. Getting our hair and make up done, spending a few hours in flattering poses, and then seeing prints come to life can be the re-set some of us need to be refreshed. It feels so wonderful to see the YOU that you have been missing return!
Not only do photographs make you feel good, but it is also a wonderful example to set for your children. Yes, this experience is for you, but your children are watching. They see when you take time to celebrate yourself. They see when you value portraits of yourself. They will see the beautiful matted prints you bring home and display for years to come. What better positive example could you set for them than loving yourself so much that you exist in print?
You and your family will have these photos to look back on for years to come. Remember, even if you don’t think you need them, or feel like you aren’t photogenic, there is ALWAYS a need to document the person you are today. Don’t wait for the “perfect time”…it will never feel like it! The actual perfect time is whenever you decide that you are worth photographing. I will help you along the way. You don’t have to know how to outfit plan, how to do your makeup, or what poses to do; all of that is my job! Let me show you just how perfectly photogenic you are right now.
When it comes to taking family photographs most people want photos of their children; that’s no surprise to anyone! What many might not realize, though, is the distinct differences of the way we had our photos taken versus the way we are documenting the lives of the current generation.
Does anyone here have old family albums; you know, the crinkly 4x6 ones, the terribly developed drugstore ones? They are so fun to look through, right?! How about laundry baskets full of the packages of 4x6 photos that were never put in albums? Any 11x14 prints hanging out at your parents or grandparents house…the ones that are so JC Penny cringe worthy but you love seeing them? Photos are how we remember. You can see a photo of you with family, at the zoo, at your birthday, and it instantly brings back the best memories!
Now, think about how the current generations are being photographed…with phones. It’s rare to see photo albums anywhere. It’s rare to print photos, give or a take the few you may have in frames. What the current young generations will be missing out on is the opportunity to look back on their printed photos. Those Instagram and Facebook posts won’t last forever. Have you ever considered what would happen if suddenly there was a tech issue? Everything you posted would be lost forever.
That is why I believe in creating printed photographs. Albums and Folio boxes are the perfect ways to document your child’s life and gift them the memories of their childhood. Not only is it beneficial to them in the future, but it is also helping them develop right now more than you think. When children see printed photos of themselves they feel a sense of belonging, a sense or true identity. They walk through their houses and hallways and see that they belong. They can sift through photos and look at themselves, smiling and laughing with people they love.
There are so many good reasons to have your family and children photographed, but make sure that the photographs exist outside of a digital format. When you schedule photographs with me you get the best of both worlds; I provide printed photos and also the digital of whatever you choose to purchase! You get to come to the studio several weeks after your session and physically look through the photos of your family and choose the ones you would like to exist forever in your household.
Create the gift of printed memories for your children this season!
Everyone knows that children are generally the primary focus of family photo sessions, but what happens when you include extended family in your experience? Are you fortunate enough to have photographs of yourself with your parents and grandparents? Why not include extended family in yours and create a printed legacy that will last many lifetimes. Children will grow up and look for photos of themselves with their extended family; what photographs will your children find?
When you purposely include extended family in photo sessions it creates a permanent connection for your children. These are photographs they will have forever, that they can smile back on 50 years from now and tell their children and grandchildren about their relatives. How amazing is it that we have the technology and opportunity to create printed photographs to support the legacy of our loved ones so easily!
If you are fortunate enough to have grandparents or extended family in your life, why are you waiting to take photographs with them? When you put it off by saying you want to do it in a different season, or you want to lose weight before, or that you're waiting for new family members to "complete" your family by birth or marriage, you are wasting the opportunity to capture your family how they are in this moment. Take the photographs now, and also take them later! Let your family evolve in frames along your hallways. We aren't guaranteed the opportunity to photograph all family members forever, so what are you waiting for?
Brea came to the studio for updated personal branding photos! We had a great time going through all of the poses, and turns out she actually has a bit of modeling experience which made the morning fly by! The smiles you see are absolutely genuine; she has the most bubbly personality and is someone I could easily talk to for hours.
Brea is a marketing coach (find her info HERE!) and is so incredibly passionate about helping others grow their businesses. She has strategies for businesses and entrepreneurs to help them meet and surpass their goals, and I am so excited to work with her on building different areas of my own business! On top of providing marketing support, I found out most importantly that she is an avid Friends fan (we may be an unstoppable team when trivia nights open up again), loves bright and vivid colors, and enjoys trips to Disney more than most kids do.
It was such a fun morning taking Brea's personal branding photographs; we plan on getting together again soon when it's warmer for some outdoor shots! Keeping your personal branding updated and interesting is one of the best ways to drive traffic to your website. In just over an hour, we were able to drive over 30 new photos into her collection to use for social media. How would you like to use photographs to advance your brand?
There's not much that makes me smile more than photographing a super sweet family! I have known this family for years, but this is the first time I have had the pleasure of photographing them. Amanda is the keeper of so many boys in this house, and she does it with a sense of humor that would make anyone cry from laughing so hard.
This SHELTERED session was to update their family photos that hadn't been taken in nearly 10 years! I will absolutely be convincing them to update juuusst a little bit more frequently than this in the future.
One of the absolutely cutest things about this session was one of their pups, and by "pup" I mean this huge 160lb lap dog, Sydney. Just look at those eyes! I'm a dog person, and their 3 were hilarious trying to get to look at the camera. Lots of treats dangled in the air!
Such a fun hour spent with these four, with plenty of sarcasm in the air (just the way I like it!). I'm so excited to deliver their print and album in the next few days!

Stacie came into the studio for personal branding photos for her Real Estate business. She has such a full background, and is now continuing her professional career as an agent. She taught Special Education for years, is a mother and grandmother, and was so fun and interesting to talk to during our session together!
You can tell right away that Stacie is a very thoughtful, accomplished, and genuine person; all qualities you would want in a realtor! She is serving the greater Lansing area, so if you are looking for a realtor who is very easy to talk to and sincerely cares about her clients, look her up; or better yet, just find her information right here:
Personal branding sessions for realtors can be done in studio, on location, or a combination of both. How would you like to represent your brand? Contact me today to find out how we can update your images!
What an absolute honor to photograph this wonderful young woman! During our Zoom consultation I could tell she was so easy going and WOW she lived up to that!
Hannah and her mom came to the studio to start our session. I have taught with Hannah's mom, Kally, for 9 years and she is one of the most thoughtful people I know. She has such a big heart for her students and is someone who creates so much warmth in her classroom. You can walk down the hallway and hear her students singing, and she can tell you all of her students likes, dislikes, and favorites the second you ask. It was so fun to get to spend time with them both! (And you know we had to get a few mother/daughter photos!)
After the studio we headed toward downtown Mason and then to their family property that had ALL of the great fields! It was important to Hannah to have photos at the places she grew up. She is very involved in her community, and I'm told is an excellent trombone player. We hurried to some of her favorite places so we could beat the setting sun and make sure we got all of the beautiful soft light. What a fun afternoon and evening it was getting all of these different shots in different locations!
Let me introduce you to my beautiful friend Ronza! She is a certified life coach, mom to an ADORABLE one year old, and the most supportive friend a girl could ask for!
I met Ronza through a mutual friend several years ago. We share a similar cultural background and instantly connected on so many levels. Ronza is from Palestine and came to the U.S. for school. She met her husband, Ed, in Boston, and now they live in MI.
When Ronza started her business she came to the studio for personal branding photos. Being an online business means that clients first connect to you through words and photographs. Investing in your first impression is key to the success of your online business; what do you want your clients to notice about you first?
What you see in these photos is the real Ronza; someone who will sit on a couch with you (or these days, on Zoom!) and listen to your dreams and aspirations. She will give you advice and guide you through questions to help you exceed your business or personal goals. She is a WONDERFUL listeners, and truly hears what you are saying and responds in a meaningful and direct way. Everyone needs a Ronza!
What will your personal branding images say about you? What do you hope to visually communicate to your clients that will draw them in? We can meet your styling and branding goals inside or outside the studio, and welcome your clients to your website/marketing pages with photos that represent the very best of you!
Have you ever met people that you just instantly fall in love with? Well, if you haven't, you should meet the Hamers family! They radiate joy and kindness like it's their full-time job. Mike and Jen have two beautiful daughters who are some of the sweetest kids I have ever met!
I have had the absolute pleasure of getting to know this family over the last few years. Mike and Jen work in the same school district, and their girls have been stealing the hearts of teachers since Kindergarten. One is an old soul, and one is the life of the party; two very different personalities, but both have hearts of gold! Both are sensitive, caring, and so compassionate.
One of the most unique things about the Hamers family is how they will make anyone and everyone feel right at ease. Talking to them is like talking to old friends!
Unfortunately our session was cut short because of an in-ground wasp nest; there were some screams, some stings, and I'm told some ice cream and a bubble bath at home afterwards. I can't wait to steal them for some winter photos; all of the snow. All of the rosy cheeks. All of the adorable winter gear. NONE of the wasps!
